Matt started his legal career as an office clerk at a large Portland law firm in 1999. After completing his master’s degree in history in 2005, he began his career as a paralegal, working for a handful of sole practitioners and small partnerships handling business and commercial litigation, bankruptcy, land use, employment, family, and criminal matters. In 2012, Matt joined the local office of a national law firm, where he rose to the position of Lead Paralegal and led a team of paralegals and staff assisting banks, mortgage servicers, and borrowers with the refinancing, sale, and foreclosure of single-family homes. In 2019, Matt joined a Portland firm specializing in insurance defense matters involving construction defects, asbestos, product liability, and various casualty claims. Matt joined Larkins Vacura Kayser in 2021.
