Former LVK Partner Bridget Donegan Selected as General Counsel of Portland City Auditor’s Office
October 5, 2020Bridget Donegan has been selected as General Counsel of the Portland City Auditor’s Office and will begin serving in that capacity in mid-October 2020. Though LVK attorneys and staff will greatly miss working with Bridget, we are delighted her sharp judgment and legal skills will be used for our local government.
The mission of the Auditor’s Office is to promote open and accountable government by providing independent and impartial reviews, access to public information, and services for City government and the public. In her new role, Bridget will be providing legal and policy advice to the Auditor and division managers on a broad range of issues related to performance auditing, complaint investigations, public records and meetings, lobbying regulations, and police accountability.
Bridget joined LVK as an associate attorney in 2012, following a clerkship with Oregon Supreme Court Justice Virginia Linder. She became a partner in LVK in 2017 and remained with our firm until she was chosen for the General Counsel role.
While practicing law here, Bridget handled a heavy caseload of civil litigation matters, while also doing pro bono legal work for the Domestic Violence Project, contributing to the Multnomah Bar Association, Oregon Women Lawyers, and Oregon Trial Lawyers Association, and serving as a member and chair of the Portland Police Citizen Review Committee. Bridget prevailed in several jury trials and has been instrumental in LVK’s representation of hundreds of investors in several high-profile securities cases. In addition to providing great legal service to the firm’s clients, she was a mentor to our more junior attorneys and a friend to everyone in the firm.
We wish Bridget the best of luck as she begins a new chapter in her career.
