May 28, 2026

LVK partner John Rake authored Chapter 25 of the Oregon State Bar’s Federal Civil Litigation in Oregon (2026 Edition), with assistance from Lynette Yorgey and Tom Bode.

The chapter focuses on the role of expert witnesses in federal civil litigation, offering practical guidance on retaining experts, preparing reports under FRCP 26, and addressing admissibility under Rule 702 and Daubert. It also provides insights on expert discovery and the effective use of expert testimony at trial.

The BarBooks series is a comprehensive resource for Oregon practitioners, combining federal rules, local practice, and relevant case law in a single reference.
